Both West and East Shaw halls were evacuated Saturday afternoon as a result of a sprinkler malfunction, East Lansing fire Capt. Greg Baker said.
A sprinkler in the building went off around 4:20 p.m., setting off the fire alarms in the building, and a fire team was dispatched to fix the malfunction, Baker said.
Only one sprinkler in the building went off, but the building’s sprinkler system needed to be reset before the fire alarms could be turned off.
Students were allowed back in the building a little after 5 p.m.
