Moped stolen, found at Snyder Hall

January 11, 2012

A 21-year-old male alumnus reported his moped stolen from the bicycle rack of Snyder Hall between about 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. Dec. 22, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

The victim gave his keys and permission to use the moped to a 19-year-old male student, McGlothian-Taylor said.

The student parked the moped near the bike rack and still was in possession of the keys at the time of the alleged theft. An MSU police officer later located the moped parked on the sidewalk in front of Snyder Hall with the headlights on and the motor running.

The officer arrested a 30-year-old Lansing resident in relation to the theft, and the moped was recovered.
