Gov. Rick Snyder will speak at the Kellogg Center Tuesday morning, addressing a group of U.S. and Canadian leaders on ways to increase trade between the two countries.
His speech is part of a transportation summit that involves leaders from Michigan, Ohio and Canada. The summit, which started Sunday, is geared to forging economic development goals shared between the two countries.
The summit comes in the middle of negotiations in the state Senate to build a new, publicly owned bridge between Detroit and Canada. Although an expected vote never materialized in a Senate committee last week, it is expected to come to a vote within the next several days.
