Freshman linebacker Max Bullough might have all charges related to a minor in possession essentially erased if he successfully completes his nine-month probation, said Carolyn Jemison, a Clerk of Court for Pitkin County Court in Colorado.
“It will be as if (the charges) never existed,” Jemison said.
On Tuesday, Bullough was given deferred sentencing in relation to a March 10 incident in Aspen, Colo. Bullough and junior tight end Brian Linthicum were on spring break when Linthicum allegedly punched a man in the face at a bar. The two then allegedly ran from the place. A Taser was used on Linthicum to subdue him, Aspen police Sgt. Chip Seamans said in March.
Bullough was charged with minor in possession. His sentencing includes paying $35 in court fines, serving 24 hours of public service as well as three hours of alcohol education and attending a panel for Mothers Against Drunk Driving. Jemison said these program will allow Bullough to complete his sentence in Michigan.
If Bullough completes these requirements and does not have any other alcohol-related offenses, his guilty plea will be dismissed in nine months.
Linthicum was given deferred sentencing last Tuesday on a harassment charge.
MSU Associate Athletics Director John Lewandowski said the department had no comment on the incident. Both Bullough and Linthicum were held out of the first two days of spring practice in March.
Bullough was a true freshman during the 2010 season and had 21 tackles and one interception this past season and was named to the ESPN.com Big Ten All-Freshman Team.
