MSU, E.L. to host Pack Up, Pitch In

April 11, 2011

Students living in residential halls and off-campus housing will have the opportunity to get rid of their waste free of charge in an environmentally conscious manner in the Pack Up, Pitch In, Help Out program sponsored by the university and East Lansing.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. starting May 5, and will run until June 15 in various locations across campus and the city.

Students in the process of moving out of their living areas will be able to drop off clothing, shoes, carpet, electronics, furniture, household items, nonperishable food and similar goods for recycling or donation for reuse.

Collection locations include MSU residence halls, the Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbot Road; University Village Apartments, Spartan Village and Cherry Lane and Faculty Bricks Apartments.

Most items will be collected free of charge, but a $7.50 collection fee will be charged for furniture in poor condition.
