Students could vote on the bill online this past week. A total of 299 student voted, with nine votes to abstain.
Travis Lunsford, a Student Assembly Representative of the Alliance of Queer and Ally Students, said the change is a positive one.
“I’ve very happy with the election results,” Lunsford said. “This is good for ASMSU as an organization. It should allow us to be more of an effective governing body.”
New representatives and a tax referendum, which will determine the amount of tax collected by the body, will be voted on in April.
