Strong-armed robbery reported near Snyder Hall

October 16, 2010

An MSU student reported a strong-armed robbery that occurred early this morning outside of Snyder Hall, according to a police report.

The student, a 19-year-old woman, was walking toward the hall at about 4:40 a.m. when a silver four-door vehicle occupied by four males pulled into the metered spaces. The victim described the men as black and about 20 years old, according to the report.

One man wearing a black shirt exited the front passenger-side door, approached the girl and pulled the purse off of her shoulder, making her fall to the ground. The car then left, traveling southbound out of the parking lot, the report said.

The victim suffered minor injuries to her knees, but declined treatment.

Anyone who has any information on the incident is asked to contact the MSU police at (517) 355-2222.
