Police investigate attempted abduction

October 13, 2010

Police are investigating an attempted abduction of a 12-year-old East Lansing girl.

The girl had noticed a Silver Chevy Impala following her this morning as she walked to her bus stop, according to a press released issued by the East Lansing Police Department. Near the intersection of Sunset Lane and Northlawn Street, the driver allegedly got out of the car and approached the girl, demanding she get into the car. The girl screamed “No” and ran to her house two blocks away.

The suspect is a white, heavy set male about 40 years old with shaggy hair. At the time he approached the girl, he was wearing black sweatpants and a black t-shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call ELPD Sgt. Scott Wriggelsworth at (517) 351-4220.
