Crosstown Showdown rescheduled for April 26

April 7, 2010

The MSU baseball team’s annual Crosstown Showdown exhibition against the Lansing Lugnuts was postponed because of weather Wednesday and was rescheduled for April 26.

“It’s good that we can make it up, so that’s the positive,” MSU head coach Jake Boss Jr. said. “More than anything else, just the hype surrounding the game and the fact that there could be a big crowd there, and it’s exciting leading up to it, so it’s a little bit of a letdown not being able to play. But because of the weather, there may have been less of a crowd there so it’s the right thing to do.”

The game on April 26 will be at 7:05 p.m. at Cooley Law School Stadium in Lansing. All tickets purchased for Wednesday’s game will be honored on April 26.

It’s the fourth annual showdown, and the Spartans won, 12-2, last season for their first victory of the series.
The Spartans (20-5 overall, 2-1 Big Ten) head to Minnesota for a three-game Big Ten series this weekend.
