Police Brief 11/05/08

November 5, 2008

3 fraternity men arrested in marijuana-related raid

More than 1 pound of marijuana was seized and three students were arrested Monday at the Sigma Nu Annex house, East Lansing police Lt. Kevin Daley said.

“It was a Tri-County Metro Narcotics (Squad) investigation and since it happened in our city, they contacted our department and requested we serve the warrant,” Daley said.

Police also confiscated between $1,000 and $2,000 in the raid.

Fourteen officers from the East Lansing police Special Response Team and five officers from the Tri-County Metro Narcotics Squad entered the residence as part of the investigation.

The drug raid happened at 10:25 p.m. Monday at the house, 541 Abbot Road. All three students are from MSU and are affiliated with the Sigma Nu Fraternity, Daley said.

The case is still under investigation.
