Riot participant sentenced, fined

An 18-year-old with no MSU affiliation was sentenced Monday to 30 days in the Ingham County Jail for his participation in April’s Cedar Fest riot.

Essa G. Mustafa, who pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor offense of disorderly conduct by indecent exposure, was sentenced by East Lansing 54-B District Court Judge David L. Jordon.

Mustafa also is required to pay $2,214.40 in total fines and costs.

The court also issued an order for Mustafa to complete five days of community service and 24 months of probation.
