“I just go out there and have fun and play the game hard and just do my job,” Saint-Dic said at Monday’s weekly football press conference.

“That’s what I do. I just do my job.”

Saint-Dic wasn’t listed as a starter coming out of summer camp, taking the spot behind junior Brandon Long on the defensive line for the season opener against UAB. When week two rolled around, though, Saint-Dic got into the starting lineup and hasn’t slowed since.

“I knew what I was capable of doing,” Saint-Dic said.

“It was only a matter of time before I got onto the field and showed my coaches, showed my players, showed my family.”

Injury update

The Spartans finished their game against Pittsburgh without three of their four starting defensive backs — whether they will return this week is still unknown.

Sophomore cornerback Ross Weaver and senior strong safety Nehemiah Warrick sat out the entire game Saturday while junior cornerback Kendell Davis-Clark was hurt during the game.

Junior offensive lineman Roland Martin also left the game early with an injury and senior offensive lineman Mike Gyetvai remains hurt. Senior offensive lineman John Masters has been able to play in emergency situations, but sophomore offensive lineman Joel Nitchman has started all three games this season.

MSU head coach Mark Dantonio didn’t release a depth chart for this weekend’s game at Notre Dame at his Monday press conference.

“We’re really not going to talk about injuries here,” Dantonio said. “We’re actually not going to talk about depth charts today either. All three defensive backs could possibly play, but we’ll see.”
