Workshop will be held to promote specialization's growth at MSU

September 9, 2007

A two-session workshop on peace and justice education will be held from 1-5 p.m. Wednesday in the Port Huron Room of the Union to try and expand the academic specialization at MSU.

From 1-2:45 p.m., professor George Lopez, Hesburgh Chair of Peace Studies at the Joan B. Kroc Institute for the International Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame, will lead the discussion on possible aims of the courses, uses of new technologies and study abroad programs.

Then, from 3-4:45 p.m., a second session will discuss how the peace and justice studies specialization is a positive part in educating students and preparing them for their careers and lives in a democratic world.
