The Meridian Township Police Department is hosting its ninth Citizens' Academy every Thursday from 6:30-9:30 p.m., Sept. 6 to Nov. 1.

The 27-hour, nine-week program will involve classroom and hands-on instruction about the criminal justice system and the role of the police department in the community. The program is free of charge and is developed to encourage everyone to participate in crime prevention efforts.
