MSU releases 2007 football schedule

February 28, 2007

The 12-game 2007 MSU football schedule, which includes seven home games, was unveiled Tuesday.

MSU opens the season with three consecutive home games. The Spartans will play Alabama-Birmingham for the first time in school history Sept. 1.

Bowling Green replaces originally scheduled Western Michigan for the Sept. 8 game because of scheduling conflicts between leagues and other Mid-American Conference teams. The Spartans close out their home stand against Pittsburgh on Sept. 15.

Road games against Notre Dame and Wisconsin follow, with the Spartans returning home Oct. 6 to play Northwestern.

This year's Homecoming game will be Oct. 13 against Indiana.

After Homecoming, the Spartans will face five teams that appeared in bowl games during the 2006 season.

MSU travels to Ohio State and Iowa for back-to-back games, then returns home to host Michigan.

The Spartans go on the road again to play Purdue on Nov. 10 and close out the season at home against Penn State the following week.
