Police briefs 06/05/06

An anonymous caller informed authorities that a mo-ped was leaking gasoline between 7:40 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. Thursday outside the Business College Complex. The East Lansing Fire Department was able to neutralize the spill from the red and black 2005 mo-ped, said MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor. The owner, a 20-year-old student, removed the mo-ped from campus.A 49-year-old female employee reported five reference books damaged at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the William C. Gast Business Library. "The pages were being cut out or tore out," McGlothian-Taylor said. Damage to the five textbooks is worth about $450. The employee did not know when the damage occurred.Lindsey Poisson
