It seems like holidays have just become an excuse to dress up in skimpy outfits. This St. Patrick's Day is bound to bring about some strategically placed clovers and a lot of skin, but there are other options.
Animal science junior Jenny Berg and Lansing resident Sarah Amann are celebrating St. Patrick's Day with plenty of green flare.
Berg said she's excited to go all out for the holiday, and that dressing up adds to the fun of celebrating.
Amann and Berg put their costumes together on a tight budget. Berg said if they had more money to spend they would add green tights and clover-themed boxer shorts to their outfits. Since they had already met their spending limit, a different approach was necessary.
Amann and Berg pair dressy shoes and pants with their admittedly goofy St. Patrick's Day-themed T-shirts and accessories. Amann said the combination allows them to still look somewhat cute and avoid total ridiculousness.
Where you can get the look:
Amann's T-shirt: Old Navy
Berg's T-shirt: Vanity
St. Patty's Day beads: King Dollar
Amann and Berg scored everything else from Meijer.
So this Friday when you're out celebrating the patron saint of Ireland, get creative. Don't be afraid to go over the top it's OK to have fun with your look.
