Two men had their jackets stolen from a coat rack in Kellogg Center on Tuesday night, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.The two men, one a 29-year-old from Fulton, and the other a 44-year-old from Vicksburg, allegedly found their leather jackets missing after 9 p.m. outside the Big Ten room.Other coats were on the rack, but only the $250 Wilsons Leather coat and the $500 Harley-Davidson leather coat were stolen.Police have no suspects. Three university employees reported money stolen from a break room between Nov. 17 and Tuesday, McGlothian-Taylor said.A 34-year-old male employee reported $40 stolen from his lunch bag on Nov. 17. A 47-year-old female employee told police $7 was stolen from a cup of money used to hold payments made on the honor system for a basket of snacks on Nov. 24. Another female employee, 43, reported $5 missing from her lunch bag early Tuesday.Police have no suspects. A 21-year-old male student reported his backpack stolen from the Main Library early Wednesday morning, McGlothian-Taylor said.The student said he left his $60 Billabong backpack in the fourth floor of the east wing to take a cigarette break just after midnight.When he returned, the backpack, containing a management textbook and notes, worth $100, were allegedly gone.The student told police he saw a balding white man with a scraggly red beard in a red flannel shirt walking around the floor prior to the theft. The suspect was allegedly in his 40s, 6 feet tall and had a slim build.
