A 17-year-old female student reported her $230 cell phone stolen from her backpack Sunday, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.The student told police her Samsung T-Mobile phone was in her backpack when she arrived at her class in Berkey Hall. The backpack was on the floor next to her desk, and she never left the desk or her backpack, police said.The theft allegedly happened between 7:30 and 8 p.m., and police have no suspects.• A 19-year-old male student was informed of MSU's weapons ordinance Monday night when officers discovered several knives in his West Akers Hall dorm room, McGlothian-Taylor said.The student reportedly had a metallic knuckle, two knives and one circular knife. He told police he was unaware of the university ordinance banning weapons on campus, and added that he used the weapons for a sport.The case was referred to the Ingham County Prosecutor's Office.• A 21-year-old female student's car window was smashed and her purse stolen early Monday evening, McGlothian-Taylor said.The student's 2001 Chevrolet Tracker was parked on the south side of Emmons Hall between 4:10 and 5:50 p.m. During that time, the front driver's side window was allegedly smashed and a $20 purse containing $15 was stolen.Police have no suspects.Shannon Houghton
