The 1992 maroon Chevrolet Cavalier reported missing Tuesday has been reunited with its owner, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said. The 22-year-old male student originally told police his car was stolen from the east side of Lot 91, south of Fee Hall.He later told police it was snatched by a former roommate, who moved it to Lot 89 - the commuter lot - about a month ago, McGlothian-Taylor said. The roommate didn't tell the student where his car was as a joke.McGlothian-Taylor said he located his car and drove home to Kalamazoo. The vehicle theft charges were dropped, she said. An 18-year-old female student reported Wednesday a stalking incident that spanned more than two years, McGlothian-Taylor said. The Abbot Hall resident told police that since June of 2002 she had been receiving constant text messages on her cell phone and instant messages on her computer from an 18- or 19-year-old man from New Jersey. She reportedly met him in the summer of 2002 through a friend, but the two never dated and were not friends. The messages allegedly switched between being love messages and threatening messages, McGlothian-Taylor said.Police said the situation is under investigation.
