MSU women's softball team is scheduled to open the season on the road at a Feb. 18-20 five-team tournament hosted by University of Nevada in Las Vegas, Nev.

At home, MSU will host Central Michigan on March 24 for its first home game.

Last season, the MSU team won the first Big Ten title in the 2004 Big Ten Championship for the program. The Spartans also completed their season with an winning record, 36-26.

Other nonconference games include the Lead-Off Classic in Columbus, Georgia, Loyola (Chicago) and Valparaiso. The team will host 11 home games, six of those being league play. The Big Ten Tournament will be held May 12-15 in a location to be announced.
