An MSU police officer was patrolling the Computer Center on foot at 1:30 p.m. on July 26, when she came across two male subjects in a lab who were breaking a university ordinance.Neither of the two men were affiliated with MSU and were therefore not supposed to be in the building, much less accessing the university's network, MSU police Sgt. Maureen Kennedy said."It appeared as something odd, and it turned out they were borrowing passcodes," Kennedy said. Both men were cited for the ordinance and given trespassing tickets as well, Kennedy said. One of the men, a 20-year-old from Lansing, also had a warrant in East Lansing for his arrest. The other subject was a 19-year-old from East Lansing. A trespasser also broke an MSU ordinance at 1:50 p.m. at the Natural Science Building, Kennedy said. The building staff reported an emergency eyewash station had been activated and left on. Water from the station flooded the room and Physical Plant authorities had to clean it up, Kennedy said.No damage was done, Kennedy added.Police have no suspects.
