Man robs Meridian Township bank

Meridian Township police Sgt. Greg Frenger hangs a police line Thurdsay afternoon at the Standard Federal Bank, 2731 E. Grand River. A man robbed the bank and got away with an undisclosed amount of money.

Standard Federal Bank, 2731 E. Grand River Ave., was robbed Thursday after a man demanding money walked in indicating he had a weapon.

The man got away with an undisclosed amount of money, Meridian Township police Lt. Tom Couling said moments after arriving at the scene, adding no one was injured.

Traffic flow slowed as gawkers stared at several police cars blocking the parking lot while officers taped off the bank's entrances declaring it a crime scene.
