Police brief 11/19/09

By Brittany Shammas (Last updated: 11/19/09 12:01am)

Dorm window shattered by flying banana

A dorm room window in West Wilson Hall was shattered at about 12:09 p.m. Monday when a banana was thrown through it, MSU police Sgt. Florene McGlothian-Taylor said.

The 20-year-old student who lives in the West Wilson room was sitting on his couch when the $50 window shattered and the banana landed near his desk, McGlothian-Taylor said.

He looked out the window to see two men, one wearing a red jacket and one wearing a black jacket. The student told police he did not know the two men, who were gone before he got outside.

There are no suspects and the incident is under investigation.

This made my day, especially the verification question: What color is a banana?

Was this a frozen banana? This seems impressive that a banana could break through a window.

Wow – while I prefer Chilean wine, this bananna must pack a serious punch!
