Stretches of West Circle Drive near the Main Library will be closed this weekend as construction crews are scheduled to perform emergency work on a steam tunnel.
One lane will close beginning at 5 a.m. Friday between the Main Library and the Music Building. Both lanes will close at 5 a.m. Saturday and are expected to reopen at 8 p.m. Sunday.
Saturday’s double lane closure begins east of Kalamazoo Street and ends near parking Lot 11, located between Olds Hall and the Main Library.
Typically a one-way drive, a temporary route granting access to Lot 11 will be open from Auditorium Road by Agriculture Hall.
The construction includes sidewalk and roadway removal and replacement and masonry work to the steam tunnel.
