MSU struggles in Japan tourney

The Spartans shot a 40-over-par 904 (307-302-295) in the 54-hole tournament. No. 2 Washington won the 27th-annual event with an 8-under-par 856.
Individually, freshman James Ross led the Spartans with a 4-over 220, finishing 16th overall. Senior Jack Newman finished tied for 30th, shooting a 225.
