When MSU beat Purdue 21-7 Saturday at Spartan Stadium, the home team made its way over to the southeastern corner of the stadium to do the traditional singing of “MSU Shadows” with the student section. After the final word had been sung, nearly all the Spartans headed to the locker room to celebrate their ninth win of the season.

Hey Cash Kruth,

Do you go to MSU? I would HOPE that you know the difference between the “MSU Fight song” and the “MSU Shadows.”

The team TRADITIONALLY sings the MSU Fight Song with the band and the student section, not the shadows. But nice try though.

Where in the world were half the students for this game?! Going in to the game the team is 8-2 and fighting for a slice of the Big Ten Championship and whole sections of the student seating were empty. Absolutely pathetic! Too cold….no probably too drunk from the night before. What does it take to get your sorry butts in the seats?! This is what I expect (and get) from CMU and WMU students.

Kudos to the students who DID show up and provide great support to the team. You are true Spartan fans.
