Izzo gets second recruit for 2009
By Joey Nowak (Last updated: 04/21/08 8:11pm)MSU men’s head basketball coach Tom Izzo has landed another recruit for the 2009-2010 season. Six-foot-9, 275-pound center Derrick Nix verbally committed to MSU, according to the scouting Web site Rivals.com.
Nix, named the 88th best player in the ESPN.com Top 100 players of that recruiting class, was the second player landed by Izzo, after center Garrick Sherman.
According to ESPN, Nix is a “wide body” player and a load in the paint whose efforts to lose weight have paid off in recent years.
