After recording a .625 batting average in MSU softball's three-game sweep on the road against Loyola Marymount, junior outfielder Lea Foerster was named the Big Ten Player of the Week.

Foerster, a native of Portage, Mich., also registered a .769 on-base percentage and 1.500 slugging percentage with four extra-base hits, five RBIs and scored five runs last weekend.

In Saturday's 7-5 win, the junior center fielder documented a triple, solo home run and scored three runs.

Foerster added a pair of doubles, four RBIs and scored a run in the series finale 7-5 win on Sunday.

This is Foerster's first Player of the Week honor and the first since Celeste Wood on Feb. 13.

MSU, currently at 10-2 on the season, will play in the Bulldog Invitational in Athens, Ga. begining on Saturday as they play a double-header with UNC-Willimington and then finish the day taking on the University of Georgia.
