Eight arrested for post-game Cedar Village revelries

December 7, 2015

Eight individuals were arrested for revelries in Cedar Village after MSU's victory over Iowa Saturday night, East Lansing Police Department Lt. Scott Wrigglesworth said.

The subjects were arrested for minor in possession and disorderly conduct, with around a dozen others arrested for a variety of other incidents unrelated to post-game revelries in other areas of East Lansing.

Including a giant stuffed teddy bear and a dumpster, 13 fires were set.

Just seconds after MSU's 16-13 win, Cedar Village, a common sight of post-game celebrations, saw crowds pour into the apartment complex in a cheering mass. Police were on the scene even before the crowd in riot gear and with two mounted on horses.

Crowds lit off firecrackers and fires for an hour and a half before police moved to disperse the crowd.

Last spring, 13 were arrested in one weekend relating to Cedar Village uproars after a series of wins in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.
