Jackson National Life Insurance Company officially announced today it will revamp the former Barnes & Noble building, 333 E. Grand River Ave., for both full and part-time jobs and move into the location this fall.

In a press release, the company said it will offer flexible part-time work for students and local citizens. Student employees will have access to Jackson leadership, as well as self-designated work schedules at “one of the fastest-growing companies in the financial services industry.” Jackson National Community Fund will also use the site to offer volunteers an opportunity to work alongside Jackson’s associates.

Applications will be released online in late-August.

“The goal is to create a space where students can gain real-life work experience and afford themselves an advantage to career opportunities post graduation,” President and CEO Mike Wells said in a media release. “We’re confident this initiative will not only benefit our business through the insight we will receive from these tech-savvy Generation Y associates, but also encourage an active dialogue with MSU and the East Lansing community.”

According to the release, MSU president Lou Anna K. Simon said Jackson National Life presents an innovative way to partner with the university.

“Projects like this and companies like Jackson are vital to keeping our graduates in Michigan,” she said.
