The most decorated female golfer in MSU history is leaving on top.
Senior Caroline Powers was named to the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-America Team as an honorable mention on Wednesday. Making the team as an honorable mention in 2011 and 2012, she is the first Spartan in program history to garner WGCA All-America honors three times.
Powers finished out her career with a successful season in 2012-13, being honored as the 2013 Big Ten Women’s Golfer of the Year. She finishes her career as MSU’s all-time leader in scoring average (74.26) and owns the top three single-season scoring averages in program history.
On the men’s side, senior Matthew Moseley was selected to the PING All-Midwest Region Team on Tuesday. The announcement comes courtesy of the Golf Coaches of America (GCAA).
As a second-team All-Big Ten selection last season, Moseley led MSU with a 73.92 scoring average. The number ranks 14th on the MSU single-season list.
Moseley qualified for the NCAA Regionals and tied for 22nd in Columbus, Ohio. Mosely also had nine top-25 finishes in his 12 stroke play events.
