Senior cornerback Chris L. Rucker was sentenced to 10 days in jail for violating a term of his probation.

Rucker pleaded guilty to one count of probation violation in East Lansing’s 54-B District Court on Thursday, Judge David Jordon said.

Rucker was arrested on suspicion of operating while intoxicated, or drunken driving, on Oct. 11. Rucker had a blood-alcohol content of .10, according to a copy of the ticket. The charge was reduced to a reckless driving charge on Thursday, Jordan said.

He is sentenced to two years probation and to serve 10 days in jail, with a one day credit given to him for his initial night in jail after his arrest, Jordan said. Rucker turned himself in Thursday.

Rucker violated one term of his one-year probation sentence stemming from a November 2009 incident in which 15 MSU football players allegedly attacked members of a fraternity in Rather Hall. Under the stipulations of Rucker’s probation, he was not to consume alcohol.

He pleaded guilty to assault and battery in March.

MSU head coach Mark Dantonio suspended Rucker indefinitely after his Oct. 10 arrest.
