Alternative spring break trips a chance for students to give back
There’s an alternative way to vacation here at MSU that all Spartans can be a part of. The program called Alternative Spartan Breaks, or ASB, gives students the opportunity to travel to many different locations in the western hemisphere and help provide services to those in need.

Twitter and Facebook may be taken down a notch by new social networking site Voloe, which has arrived on the scene offering users a share of $1 million to achieve their dreams and goals.Voloe provides a medium to share a user’s dreams and goals with friends and family.Users can follow whoever they like, similar to Twitter.
Uber app offers convenience
Many students find themselves needing a ride home after a night out with friends. Someone could call a cab, but nobody has cash on them.Don't worry ? there's Uber.Uber is a free app that allows a person to summon a car to their exact location and pay using a card.To use it, download the app and create an account.Whenever a student here at MSU is desperate for a cab but has no cash on them, they can use this app.Uber allows users to get a fare estimate before they even request a car.
Not all study abroad programs are popular
With over 275 different programs and over 60 countries to choose from, MSU’s study abroad program is the largest in the nation ? but some programs are more popular than others. According to the Office of Study Abroad, MSU students touched down in all seven continents of the world last year ? including 15 students that went to Antarctica.Europe, MSU’s most popular continent for Study Abroad travels, was flooded with 1,475 Spartans in 2012-2013.In the 2014 summer semester, the top two most travelled to countries for MSU students were the United Kingdom and Italy.Zoology senior and peer advisor for the Office of Study Abroad Devyn Porath spent a semester in Australia as an exchange student for La Trobe University, where she took classes and participated in different volunteer programs.http://studyabroad.isp.msu.edu/about/participation_statistics.pdf
