Michigan State basketball assistant coach Mark Montgomery has been hired as the new head coach at the University of Detroit Mercy, the school announced Wednesday. The 54-year-old Montgomery has spent two stints under head coach Tom Izzo, who coached Montgomery as an assistant over 30 years ago at MSU.
The game will be played at Jackson Field in Lansing, right near the Capitol downtown. This is the first of two games MSU will play at Jackson Field, as the Spartans will also play Western Michigan on April 17.
