Jenison Field House receives about $500,000 in upgrades
The renovations — about $500,000 worth of improvements — were funded by a donation by Bob Skandalaris, who is an alumnus and frequent donor to MSU. The renovations include new paint jobs, new bleacher and chair-back seating, scoreboards and a video board, Deputy Athletics Director Greg Ianni said.

Positives stick out more than negatives in Spartans' blowout victory
Talk about making a statement. After its slow start in the season opener, the No. 15 MSU football team came out Saturday and absolutely manhandled Florida Atlantic. Any bad memory the Spartans had from the Youngstown State game was completely wiped away after the dominant 44-0 win over the Owls.

For junior defensive tackle Jerel Worthy and the defense of the No. 17 MSU football team, practice leading up to Saturday’s game versus Florida Atlantic wasn’t necessarily enjoyable. The coaches were constantly in their ears talking about how the defense could have played harder than they showed in the season opener.
