MSU Pompon volunteers at Michigan Special Olympics State Summer Games

On June 2 and 3, 20 members of the MSU Pompon team volunteered at the Michigan Special Olympics (SOMI) State Summer Games at Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant for the fourth year in a row. The State Summer Games is one of several philanthropic events MSU Pompon volunteers for every year. It’s also the team’s first big event of the season.

Four Spartans selected in MLB draft

Although the Michigan State Spartans fell short of the college baseball playoffs after consecutive losses to Ohio State in Big Ten Tournament, four players from the team realized their lifelong aspiration when they received calls corresponding to a pick in the MLB draft.

Football season ticket plans sell out

The MSU Athletics Department announced on Thursday those wanting to buy football season tickets for the first time when ticket sales open up to the public on June 15 will only be able to purchase a six game package that excludes the Oct. 29 matchup with University of Michigan.

Baseball has a storied tradition at MSU

Baseball at MSU started with humble beginnings. It was the first organized sport at the State Agricultural College in athletic history, which was MSU’s second university name. Students organized the team and played local communities including the Capital Club of Lansing.
