Spartans score 7 goals in sweep

The MSU hockey team is giving head coach Rick Comley gray hair. In MSU’s last five games, the final two minutes of regulation decided the game’s outcome, with the Spartans winning three of the five nail-biters.

After limiting its opponents to 20 points or fewer in its last four outings, the MSU defense figured to be in shutdown mode as it prepared for Minnesota, which entered Saturday’s game at the bottom of the Big Ten in total offense.

Spartans, Aztecs finish in 1-1 deadlock

The MSU men’s soccer team was drastically outshot, maintained minimal possession and played most of Sunday’s game on its heels. But the Spartans were able to earn a 1-1 result through regulation and two sudden-death overtimes against San Diego State at DeMartin Stadium at Old College Field to extend the team’s unbeaten streak to five games.
