Neitzel signs contract with German team

Former MSU guard Drew Neitzel has signed a one-year contract to play with the Artland Dragons of the German Professional Basketball League, according to Eurobasket.com Neitzel played for the Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA’s Summer League earlier this month, but decided to sign with Artland on Wednesday.

Hoopers honored for sportsmanship

MSU graduates Drew Neitzel and Alisa Wulff were announced the Big Ten Outstanding Sportsmanship Award winners on Wednesday. Neitzel, who graduated in May with a degree in interdisciplinary humanities, was a starting guard on the MSU men’s basketball team in each of the last three seasons and a co-captain his last two seasons.

Merchant adds to class of 2012

MSU women’s basketball head coach Suzy Merchant announced the signing of a third recruit for the 2008-09 season on Thursday. Joining Porsche Poole and Courtney Schiffauer in signing a National Letter of Intent is Taylor Johnson.

Izzo, Baum made coaches for Saturday's intrasquad football game

It’s evident MSU men’s basketball head coach Tom Izzo is a football junkie. With Saturday’s intrasquad spring game quickly approaching, MSU football head coach Mark Dantonio made a couple of quick coaching additions – designating Izzo as a coach of the Green squad and men’s soccer coach Joe Baum a coaching member of the White.
