Play the right way. It’s a cliched but simple message preached by coaches in all sports. MSU baseball head coach Jake Boss Jr., has been beating his team over the head with it this season.


Baseball team to return to South Carolina for four-game stint

The opening weekend of game action yielded a few lessons for the MSU baseball team. After several weeks of indoor practice, the Spartans (1-1 overall, 1-0 Big Ten) split a pair of games in the first weekend of play in Greenville, S.C., losing 3-2 to Furman on Friday before defeating Northwestern 7-4 on Sunday.

If there is one thing Mario Impemba remembers from when he was a student at MSU, it was getting together with friends to watch the 1984 Detroit Tigers sail through the playoffs and win the World Series.


Spartans thrive during summer months

Although the majority of his roster is dispersed across the nation playing in various summer leagues from Florida to Alaska, Boss and his staff are hitting the pavement during a crucial time for recruiting high school prospects.


Face Time with Brandon Eckerle

Although his name is firmly engraved in MSU baseball lore, former center fielder Brandon Eckerle opted to return to the classroom rather than fight his way through the ranks of a sport he lost a little bit of passion.
