Jadun steps down as coach of MSU men’s tennis, Flowers takes over

MSU men's tennis head coach Harry Jadun stepped down to pursue opportunities outside of collegiate coaching, according to an MSU Athletics press release. Jadun led the Spartans for four seasons, after returning to his alma mater in 2022. Mike Flowers, who served as an assistant coach to Jadun for all four seasons, was named new head coach.

MSU hockey reloads roster as transfer portal closes

MSU hockey is expected to return 14 players, including nine forwards and five defenseman. The Spartans have also received three transfers and are expected to fill the rest of its roster with incoming freshmen. MSU’s biggest departures came due to graduation and professional contracts as eight players signed agreements. The team also lost four players to the transfer portal, two backup goaltenders and two forwards, who did not play for more than half of the season.

MSU club coed, women’s dodgeball teams claim national titles

Both of the MSU dodgeball teams — open (co-ed) and women’s — brought back national championships this past month, competing in the National Dodgeball Club Association (NDCA). The women’s team (19-1) secured its first ever title on April 12, and the open team (20-0) earned its title on Sunday, April 29. The teams shared a similar path to success as they both fell short of the national championship last season, losing in the final round. The losses taught them humility and a focus on what they can control, lessons they incorporated into their seasons.
