“I am a Spartan, I bleed green, and there’s nobody that they can find to do a better job,” Barnett said at his press conference on Monday. “Maybe equal to (me), because I ain’t gonna do that – confident, not cocky – but there’s nobody that they can find better. Maybe equal to, but not better.” Just hours after Barnett made his pitch, MSU basketball coach Tom Izzo praised the former All-American Spartan defensive back’s efforts this season with the turmoil surrounding the program.
After an eventful weekend at Munn Ice Arena, where the Spartans swept last week’s No. 1 Wisconsin Badgers, the MSU hockey team has started their move back into the top 10 and have been slotted at No. 7 for the week in the USCHO and USA Hockey polls, moving up a whopping 4 spots from No. 11.

This will be the last time MSU will take the field this year as they would not be bowl eligible even if they were able to complete the upset and take home the Land Grant Trophy.

The Spartans on one side shot an impressive 63.6% from the field and 47.1% from three and on the other side forced 25 turnovers with 16 steals while only allowing their opponents to shoot 27.9% from the field in their 105-49 win against Evansville to remain undefeated at home.
MSU will take on the University of Evansville in its fourth and final game at the Breslin Center before they hit the road for the first time of the season. The Spartans and the Aces have a short history with each other only playing once before. The Spartans have control of the only win of that series after defeating the Aces 73-53 in their previous meeting.

Augustine tallied a total of 60 saves on the weekend and had over a .92 save percentage both nights of play against the No. 1 ranked Badgers.
