LGBT community at MSU remains hopeful, despite federal court upholding Michigan's ban on same-sex marriage
Members of the LGBT community in Michigan were dealt a blow to their hopes for marriage equality last week when a federal court upheld the state’s ban on same-sex marriage. But the LGBT community on campus is remaining optimistic, hoping that the issue is not far from — finally — being settled across the country. “While this is unfortunate news for the citizens that live in the affected states, the hopeful side of this is that the Supreme Court will have no way to dodge marriage equality as an issue any longer,” said Alex Lange, Assistant Director at MSU’s LBGT Resource Center.
