MSU Museum’s second annual SciCurious invites guests to fall in love with science

This Valentine’s Day, MSU Museum invites its visitors to think about the world around them with its public outreach event, SciCurious, which presents attendees with an array of scientific collections, live specimens, and interactive activities. SciCurious is set to take place in the MSU Museum’s newly renovated building from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 14th. Anyone can attend, and although registration via the museum’s website is encouraged, it’s not required.

MSU board reinstates September meeting for 2026

Michigan State University’s Board of Trustees will host a sixth meeting this year, after voting to reduce the required annual number to five in 2024. MSU and its board have settled on hosting another private forum with university stakeholders in addition to the public meeting in September.

Parents voice panic and frustration over accidental MSU emergency alert

Parents took to social media to voice frustrations and concerns as the alert served as a traumatic reminder of the campus shooting in 2023 after an accidental emergency alert signaling an “active violent incident” was sent to students, families, faculty, and staff across Michigan State University's campus this morning.

MSU apologizes for accidental active violence alert

Michigan State University issued an apology Tuesday afternoon for a “drill” emergency notification sent to students, faculty, staff and parents. In a letter penned by MSU President Kevin Guskiewicz and MSU Department of Police and Public Safety Chief of Police Mike Yankowski, they wrote that the message was “inadvertently” sent during a routine system test by MSU’s Security Operations Center (SOC).
