Disappointing debut

The snow had melted, the grass was green and it was a perfect day to open a new baseball season Wednesday at Kobs Field. Too bad the MSU baseball team forgot to come out of hibernation. The Spartans fell to Eastern Michigan 10-3 in their home opener, losing to a team that came into the contest with a 1-17 record.

E.L. residents still unhappy with City Center II plans

About 25 East Lansing residents broke out clapping at Wednesday’s planning commission meeting after Ann Nichols, president of the Oakwood Historical District Neighborhood Association, criticized building heights in the new City Center II proposal. A new plan for a $117 million downtown development was discussed at the meeting.

Members of ASMSU have planned for spring elections since last semester, and officials from MSU’s undergraduate student government said they are hoping to increase the number of voters this year.
