'We are still here': MSU Rock's message remains the same between Indigenous and Palestinian student groups

On Monday, members of the North American Indigenous Student Organization, or NAISO, painted the Rock with the message, "WE ARE STILL HERE" for Indigenous Peoples' Day. At midnight on Tuesday, the Students United for Palestinian Rights, or SUPR, painted the Michigan State University Rock with the Palestinian flag. Later, the message, "Free Palestine" was painted on top. Linguistics senior and SUPR President Samir Levitt said SUPR kept NAISO's original message because the struggles of Indigenous North Americans and Palestinians are "one and the same."

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, commonly referred to as PCOS, is estimated to affect five to six million women in the United States. When acne popped up, and facial hair started randomly appearing on her chin, 23-year-old Dearborn resident Zeinab Khattab had no idea what was going on but knew something was off. "I think one of the main issues is that a lot of these symptoms are often chalked up to just being regular 'woman issues,'" Khattab said. 'Rather than it being a serious medical concern."

New MSU program will eliminate tuition costs for eligible students starting next year

Thousands of incoming Spartans will have their tuition covered for up to eight semesters, thanks to MSU's new financial aid program, Spartan Tuition Advantage. To be eligible, students must be citizens or permanent U.S. residents, qualify for in-state tuition, be Pell Grant eligible and have a household income of $65,000 or less.

'To Kill A Mockingbird' Broadway show plays at MSU Wharton Center

The stage adaptation of Harper Lee's novel, "To Kill a Mockingbird" ran at Michigan State University's Wharton Center from Oct. 3 until this past Sunday, Oct. 8. Last Wednesday, Greater Lansing residents and MSU students gathered to watch the Broadway play's opening show at 8 p.m. The play lasted roughly three hours, with a 15-minute intermission.

MSU president search firm says Tucker scandal has not affected applications

MSU trustee, search committee chair concedes to president search criticism

Trustee and Presidential Search Committee Chair Dennis Denno released a statement saying he “misspoke” last month when he said the Board of Trustees may ultimately select a candidate who doesn’t receive the committee’s endorsement. Denno's statement followed multiple criticisms from MSU faculty and students regarding his comments, some of which he addressed in the statement.

FRIB will put $115 million toward High Rigidity Spectrometer project

Spartan Hackers President and computer science senior Rajmeet Singh Chandok said despite negative connotations surrounding their name, the club works to educate their members about computer science and create a strong community.

ASMSU passes bill advocating for importance of student, faculty voices on presidential search committee

Gender equity review shows inadequacies, inequalities in MSU athletics

An independent review of MSU's athletic department found that female athletes did not receive as much financial assistance and had less access to sports-related resources in proportion to their male counterparts. The report also noted complaints of inferior brand materials, subpar facilities and scheduling conflicts. MSU will use the review to bring the department to "full Title IX compliance" by the 2026-2027 school year.
