Theft from Cafeteria Brody's cafeteria saw yet another theft Feb. 4, MSU police said. A 22-year-old female employee student placed her belongings in a cubby and placed her jacket on her pink purse and went to work.

Student group looks toward tobacco ban

After a student-written petition to have smoking banned from MSU’s campus gained serious attention via social media and word of mouth, the MSU Anti-Cancer Society planned to bring the results to the Board of Trustees. However, just before the meeting Provost June Pierce Youatt published a memo announcing a task force designed to make MSU a tobacco-free campus.

Acafellas, Capital Green, move on to a capella semifinals

This past Saturday, the Wharton Center for Performing Arts held the quarterfinals for the 19th International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA). And for two MSU a cappella groups, the final results were aca-awesome. Winning the top two spots in the quarterfinals and heading to Dayton, Ohio for the ICCA Great Lakes Semifinals were MSU’s all male vocal group, the Accafellas, and coed vocal group, Capital Green.  Since 1996 the ICCA has held competitions throughout the nation, giving hardworking a cappella groups the opportunity to showcase their talent.

MSU focuses on community engagement for RecycleMania

Waste reduction coordinator Dave Smith said in previous years that a goal of recycling 1 million tons of recyclable material was set, but the goal for this year is different. “Our goal is to engage students and not worry so much about the numbers,” Smith said.
