Fed investigation leaves MSU in the dark on student voting trends

After a federal investigation into a national voting study, Michigan State University won’t receive 2024 data about student voting trends, which had previously been used to drive more voting participation. Campus groups across the U.S. have historically utilized those reports to better understand student voting behavior, promote civic learning and engagement, and improve related educational programs.

Faculty committee 'caught in the middle' of negotiations between UTSF and MSU

A Michigan State University academic governance body is caught in the middle of contract negotiations between a recently recognized faculty union and the university. The University Committee on Faculty Affairs, which writes an annual memo recommending faculty raises to the administration, has been advised by the general counsel to pause its bylaw-mandated work pending contract negotiations between the Union of Tenure-System Faculty and the university.

Rep. Rashida Tlaib calls for U.S. envoy to Sudan at MSU Union panel

Rep. Rashida Tlaib held up notes taken during the panel discussion at the behest of an audience member, where she wrote that she would consult with fellow congresswoman Sara Jacobs, D-Calif., as well as Foreign Affairs Committee Ranking Member Gregory Meeks, D-N.Y., to begin discussions over restoring a U.S. envoy to Sudan.
