The East Lansing Police Department has identified the man shot and killed by the department in last Wednesday’s stabbing incident at Lake Lansing and Abbott Roadas 21-year-old Isaiah Christopher Kirby, from Owings, Maryland.

House Republicans propose 62% slash to MSU state funding
A House Republican proposed budget for the next fiscal year seeks to slash just over 62% of the state’s funding towards Michigan State University. On Thursday, House Speaker Matt Hall presented the proposed cuts during a press conference in which he expressed disappointment with the direction MSU has been taking. The proposed budget seeks to cut $208.8 million from last fiscal year’s $333.7 million total allocation.
