MSU's Safe Place receives $20,000 grant

The MSU Safe Place has been granted $20,000 from The Mary Kay Foundation. According to their website, the foundation’s Shelter Grant Program awards $20,000 to one at least one domestic violence shelter in every state in observance of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, which begins Oct. 1.

​MSU Mathematics Department Trailblazes System to Alleviate Override Enrollment Woes

While not yet streamlined into a uniform process, the MSU mathematics department shows major strides have been made into making the override enrollment process less of a headache. MSU Mathematics Advisor Brian Chadwick was part of the team that spearheaded the transition of the override enrollment process of the mathematics department from a paper form to an online system.

East Lansing photo contest accepting submissions

Community members of all ages are invited to show off their photographic talent by submitting up to five photos taken in East Lansing during any of its four seasons for the 2015 East Lansing Photo Contest. Photos should be high resolution, full color and should not be significantly edited.

MSU group works to raise suicide awareness

Eleven hundred college students committed suicide across the US last year. A number whose gravity can lose weight without knowing the personal stories of victims, how their loss affected the family and friends of the victims. The send silence packing event brings eleven hundred backpack bearing the stories of suicide victims. Active minds members put on send silence packing out of a desire to help students better understand how serious the suicide epidemic is.
